Two years plus of Brexit, the ramifications, bureaucracy of what that all entails Webb’s International Removals has now streamlined its services, so that “Webb’s” continues to be the most Cost effective, efficient Service to and from The Balearics, that’s No Bull !
Weekly Scheduled Shared / Part Load Service Explained,
Goods Collected in one week are Loaded onto one of our Mega Movers as below in the picture, this Truck then goes to Sevington Border Control, Customs & HMRC near Ashford in Kent to be cleared out of the UK, Truck then Travels down to La Jorquera for the Tuesday morning, this is on the French Spanish Border, to be cleared by our Spanish Agents / Aduanas into Spain, the Documentation has already been sent well in advance to our Agents, so any issues are hopefully clarified prior to the Trucks arrival.
Customs Clearance requires “Webb’s” to pay all Customs Fees, Import Taxes, Charges etc before the truck will be released from Customs Parking,
The UK Office will be in touch with you as soon as the Vehicle is Custom Cleared, they will send you the relevant Invoices, to include, the Transport and Customs Fees, these charges need paying in Full by return, Only when all charges are paid in cleared funds can the Mallorca Depot arrange / confirm a delivery date.
The Ferry to Mallorca sails at 2130. arrives Mallorca Depot around 0530 on the Wednesday morning.

Now as you can see, there’s not a lot of time between Customs Clearance La Jonquera and the Truck getting to Mallorca or any of the other Islands, the UK Office will have sent out the relevant Invoices to all clients, they do need paying by return, all jobs must be cleared prior to delivery
Clients that have requested certain dates, these will be honoured, however we cannot accept responsibility caused by delays outside our control, that primarily means delays at Customs, Traffic, Ferries etc

There are numerous, HGV Vehicles not allowed to travel on the Continent, Customs / Aduanas are closed, so even our Smaller vehicles cannot get through, please note these include both French and Spanish National and Regional Holidays,

Shared / Part Load Service, Mallorca/ Balearic Islands to the UK
We do what’s known as a Trailer Swap here in Mallorca, the incoming Truck will swap Trailers and back to the UK on the same Ferry, Impressive, yes it is, “Webb’s” are the only Company to have the infrastructure to carry out this method, the truck 99% of the time is pre cleared out of Spain, by Spanish Customs, also, again, 99% of the time pre cleared into the UK
With a Truck arriving the Wednesday, it will depart the same day
That means in the early hours of a Friday Morning, that very same Truck that departed UK on the Sunday, is now at our CT7 ONE Depot Unbeatable Service
The UK / Mallorca Office will be sending out the relevant Invoices as soon as your consignment is Customs Cleared,
Gareth Webb will be making the schedules on a mutually agreeable delivery date, again, any dates pre booked and agreed with the relaxant Office will be honoured subject to Logistics,
The Collection Crews cannot promise or imply when your goods will be delivered, not even for chocolate biscuits !
‘Sole Use of Vehicle’ To Mallorca or the UK
This is where it has been agreed and quoted on you having a sole use of vehicle, basically you call all the shots, Gareth in the UK , Bill in Mallorca,
Now Customs procedure is still required, there’s no Fast Track or Speedy Boarding, the days of old where 200 Marlboro and a bottle of Brandy speeded up procedure is long gone, its more Chocolate biscuits and Rioja Wine , many clients now do this, dont forget we have many size vehicles, from Vans, Box Vans, Standard Removal Trucks, Road Trains, Temperature Controlled Trucks, Euro Mega Trailers, Webbs International Removals has the widest range of vehicles operating in and out of the Island, Yes we have Spanish Registered Vehicles as well
Delivery Ex Store – Mallorca or the UK
If you have requested a delivery date, fine, If not, as soon as you know for certain that you require your effects delivered, please contact the relevant Office immediately as our service is often booked up to seven working days ahead. We obviously will endeavour to accommodate the odd miracle, but as much notice as possible please!

Best part of twenty three years here in Mallorca , I’ve had the privilege of meeting many, being an Island, sourcing supply’s can be fraught with delays, it is prudent to check with your Builder / agent that the house is ready to accept your personal effects prior to booking delivery ex storage ,

To reiterate, Brexit has created so much bureaucracy that it is impossible to guarantee exact delivery dates, Customs procedure is something we have no control over, what we do have is experience, the first Company to operate a Shared Load Groupage Service in and out of the Balearics post Brexit, that’s not a bad accolade,
We are both Spanish SL and a British Ltd Company, so accountability to the authorities,
For Export, documentation is issued at, Kent depot CT7 ONE , and Palma de Mallorca
For Import, Cleared at La Jonquera on the French Spanish border as well as our Kent Depot CT7 ONE
Import Charges, as mention previously, it is not our responsibility to question Customs, you have a right of appeal against Customs, Not Us, we have to pay these charges prior to the truck being released,
I would like to point out is that we are still learning on a daily basis ,

This is only available if notified to us in writing at the time of booking, collection, should we be advised that you need Storage after collection, we reserve the right to charge double handling, storage ,
A Few Things Explained!
It is in all ‘Movers’ Terms & Conditions that they can ‘Part Load’ your move, unless it is written in the contract that you will be having the truck just to yourself. It is also written that they can sub – contract your job out to another carrier!
Webb’s Removals do not sub contract out the UK, Mallorca, UK Service.
What a Lot Of Customers are not Aware of
- HGV Trucks are restricted to 90 Klms top speed
- Customs Clearance is now required
- Maximum of ten hours driving per day
- Min break of ten hours per day
- Not allowed to drive HGV on the Continent on Sundays, Bank Holidays, Fiestas, French Peak Holiday Weekends
- French Customs do target UK plated vehicles which is a proven fact, (we have both Spanish and UK plated Vehicles)
It is 19 Hours just driving Calais to Barcelona on the Speed Limiter.

Driving Down?
There are two routes from Dover which are:
- Calais, Reims, Dijon, Lyon, Montpellier, and Barcelona. This is the most effective, although more expensive route with regards to road tolls, we use this route as it is more ‘truck friendly’.
- Or try, Calais, Paris, Clermont Ferrand, Millau [Over the New Bridge, Stunning Views] Lodeve, Beziers, Barcelona,this is a far prettier route, very hilly in the South, it is mathematically shorter, but Paris can be a nightmare.
Getting round Barcelona to the Port
Go round the ring road, almost a complete circle or run the gauntlet and go on the main road into Barcelona. Five minutes after you leave the First Toll Booth just outside Barcelona get into the left hand lane headed for Barcelona. You will come to another toll booth, and then it is signposted Port, Zona Franca. You will start going through the tunnels (NO HGVS ALLOWED) after 5 minutes, watch out for exit number 21. If you miss this just go to the next one and come back on yourself. The Port is a two minute walk from ‘The Ramblas’.
Bit of Advice
When driving in Spain, especially around Barcelona, do not be distracted by anyone saying you have a puncture or a problem with your vehicle, they are deliberately trying to distract and possibly rob you.
I would suggest that you place all valuables, passports etc. in a concealed place whilst travelling, robbery, happens only to frequently to foreign registered vehicles.
